Reimagining Lion Works.

A complex heritage site. A significant opportunity. A proposal being shaped through investigation, dialogue and design.

The existing building

The Grade II listed complex has experienced a prolonged period of disuse and requires a careful approach to structural condition, heritage significance, access and future occupation. Its scale presents possibilities, but also substantial technical and financial challenges.

The emerging concept

The project team is considering a heritage-led approach to adaptive reuse. Early ideas include supported accommodation, spaces for wellbeing and life-skills activity, and ground-floor areas that could connect with the surrounding community. The arrangement and capacity are not fixed.

Planning and feasibility

Historic planning proposals for residential conversion provide context, but should not be read as current permission for the emerging concept. Any new scheme would require appropriate assessment, design development, engagement and statutory consents.
